After the 1999 presentation, the Committee decided the the trophy was not in a fit state to be presented again and when the Club moved to the St Georges Bridge Centre it was decided to abandon this event.

In 2001, the Committee decided to renovate these trophies and to present them for the winners of the Darlington Congress.
